Grad is looking for a Mechanical Designer/Drafter who has a passion for clean air to join our growing company and to take dust collection equipment to the next level. The Mechanical Designer will supply air pollution control equipment and system fabrication designs and details to satisfy customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to work as a team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design and detail Dust Collection equipment and/or systems based on calculations
Creating 3D equipment drawings and modifying 2D based upon project requirements
Equipment design, including creation of standard drawings, manuals
Ability to work with individuals to complete projects in an efficient and timely manner.
Collaborating with production to develop layouts, views, details necessary for production/installation
Provide some technical support to Project Management and Sales departments
R&D of new product lines and existing product improvements
Qualifications
Experience/knowledge of Dust Collection preferred, but not required
Requires a technical institute or associate degree in a related engineering field
Experience that includes 3D CAD software designing mechanical components and systems for fabrication
Must have knowledge of material properties, component choice, manufacturing, installation, and machine shop processes, dimensioning, and tolerances
Must be able to create accurate and detailed 3D system designs as well as mechanical manufacturing drawings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Accurate and strong attention to detail
Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.

The Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting the salesperson or manufacturers’ representatives with the technical review of dust collection applications. The Applications Engineering team is responsible for supporting the sale of Grad products which requires mechanical engineering knowledge involving applications, installations, and pricing. Essential responsibilities of the Applications Engineer consists of:

Provide technical support with solutions for the sales team and manufacturers’ representative network customers
Keep current on air pollution control products and systems.
Review and analyze customer requirements and illustrate how Grad dust collection solutions will help customers meet or exceed clean air or production goals.
Partner with suppliers to confirm costs, pricing, and sales strategies
Prepare budget and formal proposals to RFQ/RFP
Understand customer systems and equipment requirements and identify additional sales opportunities.
Recommend and communicate modifications to standard products to meet customer requirements effectively
Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or Business, with a technical mindset) or Technical Degree.
Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
Experience with MS Dynamics CRM is a plus.
Basic AutoCAD drafting skills are a plus.
Supports implementation of improved work processes to maximize efficiency and for continuous improvement of the sales team.
